Today the temperature was -40, so we had what we call a cold day. On cold days, the school buses do not run, but we still have school. Anyways, I had three children today, the neighboring classrooms had one child and five children. It was really quite. I allowed the kids to have some extra time to play in centres, but still taught today as planned. It actually helped the day to go by quickly and the children and I got to know each other very well. It was a great day.
It's sad to send my kids home without a hat or mitts, especially in this weather. I am trying to brainstorm how to solve this problem. Any ideas?
Tonight I am going to relax at home, do some planning and studying (as usual) and go to bed early. Maybe I will come and stop by the school tonight for a peek at the kids school dance...should be fun!
